Celebrating Angela Freeman: Summit County’s Scholarship Winner

We are thrilled to share some exciting news for #SummitCounty! Angela Freeman has been awarded the County Commissioners Association of Ohio (CCAO) Scholarship, a prestigious recognition given to only five students across the state. Angela is this year’s sole recipient representing the entire Northeast Ohio region.

Council President Rita Darrow, alongside CCAO’s Steve Caraway, and Ilene Shapiro, Summit County Executive had the pleasure of presenting Angela and her mother, Kathleen, with a ceremonial check for $2,000. This scholarship reflects Angela’s remarkable achievements during her high school years and her bright future ahead.

Angela will begin her studies at Oberlin College later this month, with aspirations to attend law school and become a Public Defender. Her passion for justice and service is inspiring, and we are confident she will make a lasting impact in her community and beyond.

Congratulations, Angela! Summit County is proud to support you as you embark on this exciting journey. We can’t wait to see all that you accomplish.
